Welcome to 'This Coaching Tool' website

This website has been developed to support you as you train and help you leverage your coaching skills.

Although coaching is a relatively young discipline (mostly growing popular over the last 20 years), the strong view is that coaching should be highly individual or coachee centered. In other words, coaching should be primarily about creating space for, support and encouraging the person being trained by giving you the reflection time needed to reach their own answers and then take responsibility for the choices they make.

When we think about training at the most basic level, it mainly involves asking well-designed questions and then listening carefully to what is communicated in response. While this is often very difficult for most leaders, the process naturally creates an opportunity for an individual to learn from a particular experience and then apply that learning in very practical ways in the future. As a result, the simple act of gently asking questions and then listening and watching closely is a great skill for any leader to develop.

As a coach consider using the following as you seek to empower others:

The Online coaching database helps you easily record coaching sessions and set future action steps. This coaching tool helps the Coach and Coachee stay in touch and plan their progress through confidential interactive dialogues. It also allows the coach to see when the actions are complete and the fights are taking place, etc...

The 360-degree Online Coach Rating is used to evaluate a coach at the Nine Core Coaching Competee. Based on the perspectives of the coach (or coach in training), a supervisor (or a mentor of coach) and two (or more) people to be trained, this research-based assessment tool will allow the coach to visualize their strengths and possible areas of growth that will help develop a regular Personal Action Plan.

Specific features include the Storyboards One Page Coach, designed for coaches, while working with others on their learning journey. Designed around a simple one-page structure, Storyboards aim to provide the coach with an integrated process to work on one of the many topics in coaching sessions. Most of our Storyboards also have Coaching Guides that are a simple resource that a coach can use in any coaching session. They contain specific introductory notes and have suggested questions that may be asked to help open up the conversation. These targeted questions and support coaching grades exist for all boards in a coaching storyboard. The individual being trained can then refer to his own separate storyboard as a guide to the conversation that is likely to be throughout several sessions. The coach invites individuals to think about the application questions, asking the questions and probing more when the answers are given. Because these booklets can be used over and over again, they are a very economical tool for each trainer who can build their title library for a “when needed” basis. You’ll also find skill builder brochures that are short, sharp, and succinct features that provide the best thought on a variety of key leadership topics. They are designed to provide a practical method to improve skills and focus on explaining the main stages of the process. On the back page of each booklet, a template illustrates how the process fits into practical and immediate application. They provide extra information if you are using our most popular Storyboards and Coaching Guides. Finally, Diagnostic Assessments are questionnaire-led instruments that come with complete interpretative notes to help people find out more about who they are and what their style or skills might be. Good coaches make use of the subject-related assessment to help the coachee get a good idea of where to start their development process. Reviews can be purchased in two formats - online or for download.
